Location: Garfield Elementary School (222 W. Knox Avenue)
Help us kick off Gro-Spo, a new program to reduce food and packaging waste and build school gardens and composting systems at Spokane Public Schools. Volunteers will help conduct a food waste audit at Garfield Elementary during breakfast service at 8am as well as during lunch service starting closer to 11am. We will present our findings during the school assembly at 2:15pm and get kids excited about a waste reduction goal, planning a garden, and creating a compost system.
Up to 8 volunteers needed.
There are two shifts available. Volunteers can commit to just one meal time: 7:30- 11am or 11am-3pm
Bring gloves and an apron.
