Riverkeeper Cleanup Ambassadors — Spokane Riverkeeper
Join the Spokane Riverkeeper for a hands-on training session designed to prepare you for leading river cleanups in the field! Each year, our volunteers remove up to 68,000 pounds of trash from the Spokane River, and Volunteer Cleanup Leads play a critical role in ensuring these efforts are safe, efficient, and impactful.
During this interactive training, you'll learn firsthand how to organize and lead a cleanup team, including site setup, volunteer coordination, and proper trash disposal methods. We'll cover safety protocols, how to identify and handle hazardous materials, and best practices for minimizing environmental impact. You'll also get practical experience using cleanup tools and navigating common challenges that arise during cleanups.
This training is perfect for those looking to take an active leadership role in our cleanup efforts. Come ready to get your hands dirty and help protect the Spokane River!
